CONCRETE INNOVATION AWARDS JUDGING
The NRMCA Concrete Innovation Awards recognizes outstanding achievement in concrete design and construction. Innovative projects that demonstrate outstanding achievements in performance while lowering environmental impacts including embodied and operational carbon footprint are awarded. The award winners are selected by a jury of impartial judges who carefully evaluate each project submitted against the criteria shown below.
CONCRETE INNOVATION JUDGING CRITERIA
-
Eligibility: Building or infrastructure project, substantially designed and built using concrete in the United States in the last five years that demonstrates improved performance and sustainability. An NRMCA member company must have been involved in supplying products or services to the project. Any member of the design, build or product supplier team can submit a nomination.
-
Areas of Excellence: Concrete buildings or infrastructure projects that use advanced quality control, innovative cements, supplementary cementitious materials, admixtures, aggregates, recycling methods, carbon capture and sequestration technologies, measurement tools or innovative designs to improve performance and sustainability.
-
Judging Criteria: Demonstrate improvements in performance, including improved strength, durability, resilience, energy efficiency and sustainability, including embodied carbon reduction over typical projects of the same type.
-
Conflicts of Interest: Judges who have a conflict of interest with a nominated project do not judge that project. Examples of conflicts of interest include, the judge works for a member of the design and build team on a project, or are somehow related to the nominated project, or is the person who submitted the project.
